Gryph should get best mod.

Bet y'all forgot about that shit didn't you? So long as I appear in the new top 100 I'm cool with, I mean hell I did get to 1700 before I snapped when I d/c'd against Cuathon and lost about 9 hours of turtle games that day. iirc I smoked an entire pack of cigarettes, and broke two ash trays that day. went from 1630 to 1700 then back to 1640. I was consumed with rage xD

It would suck if we lost that. He put a lot of work into it. Also I was #1 on that list, so it is clearly the best list anyone could possibly come up with.

It's too bad we weren't able/willing to track hard statistics of the game. Maybe if, 10 years ago, we knew they were going to shut this shit down permanently we would have. :(

For example,
Which players were other players' "worst enemies" and "best enemies"? Who had best/worst record against said player?
How many blocks were landed in each game? Would allow analysis on how these blocks affected the games.
Best win ratio overall?
Most high-pressure wins?
Best tournament player, statistically?

There's a bunch of others, I'm sure, just too lazy to think of anymore.

I think you'd have to block a 100% to get -200, 99% wouldn't do it, would it? I've had -198

Blasphemy
05-15-2016, 05:32 PM
yep it was at 100%. The game must've rounded up at 99.99%. I took that s/s cuz I've had plenty of blocks that got me to -199, but that was the first time I ever saw a -200.

We can still do this, kinda, it would make for a really fun/difficult project to try and figure out later on.
We can even ELO it.

If so it needs to be made as agreements from more than one person on each and every statistic. Ex. 3000 stat thinks Poison shadow had best single performance in PSST, well maybe in that one, but maybe we should do in overrall PSST's or each Tournament MVP. Because I'd say Bax had the best PSST Performance I'v ever seen, don't remember which one though, I think it was 4 or 5.

Well, ideally we would just allow for open nominations. Make a list of all the categories, however that would work out for either forum personalities or greatest players or what have you, and then allot each forum member 10 nominations to make across all categories. Then, make it so that something like 5-10 nominations are required for each individual nominee in each individual category to be put on a ballot. This ballot will then be presented to the whole of TAO, we all vote for one winner in each category. Afterwards, someone tallies votes and awards are issued.

You can play with the numbers a bit depending on how many categories there are, obviously, but it's good to give each forum member an equal, but potentially varied, say in who gets awarded what. This is the best way to do that, I think.

Putting categories together will be quite the undertaking, though, especially if we want to do a thorough and accurate job. Also, if the nomination process is too laborious, most will probably not take the time to submit a full nomination list/ballot. This ends up leaving the awards process in the hands of the passionate few, which will no doubt inspire many heated arguments and personal insults.

There doesn't have to be a vote. We all know that the one member of the hall of fame is Jeffery.
