Why are you guys not talking about trae young yet. My gawd.
I'm not because I couldn't name a single college basketball player. :(
We are. Gypsy and I talk about CBB on a different site and I made a thread about Trae Young a few weeks ago.
It's a sad topic for us, though. He could have went to KU.
The only way he was going to KU was if they promised he would start, and that wasn't ever gonna happen. And even then it would've been hard to get him to leave home.
That being said, Trae Young is literally the greatest basketball player to ever live.
Also KU is gonna finally lose the big 12.
That makes me sad. I dont get to watch college games up here and streaming is a bummer so I usually come here for my fix.
This draft class puts last years class to shame at the top imo.
Not close to as deep though.
He would have started for this KU team. lol
If we knew Newman would be as underwhelming as he has been this season I think HCBS probably would have made that promise.
Better question, why is nobody talking about Keita Bates-Diop? Leads the Big Ten in scoring, and is currently carrying us to victory over the #1 team in the nation!
I was considering posting this morning asking if anyone was gonna watch us take down #1 tonight, but decided against it because I didn't wanna jinx it. Glad I didn't!
Go Bucks!
I watched it.
I knew who he was before the game. A few reasons he isn't being mentioned that much. One, Ohio St isn't ranked and so people aren't talking much about the Buckeyes and by extension KBD. Two, he's being overshadowed by some other players, mostly Trae Young and Marvin Bagley.
Nice win today.
I wasn't actually being serious about people not talking about KBD. I couldn't care less who the media talks about. I'm just appreciating the fact that he's a beast. If we didn't choke away double digit leads against Clemson and Butler, we would be ranked right now. Pretty crazy to think about considering where we were last year. In a couple years, I have faith Holtmann turns it around for us.
You'll probably be ranked tomorrow.
What goes into ranking teams anyways? I never really understood the system at all.
Preseason rankings based on how good each team is perceived to be and then W/L record and strength of schedule and a bunch of other subjective metrics. They don't really matter for a lot other than influencing the selection committee in March. The only two things I really care about for the Jayhawks are performance in the NCAA tournament and regular season conference titles.
Jalen Brunson is having an amazing season too.
Ya hes lookin fantastic. I think villanova might be the favourites to win it all. Brunson and Bridges should be 1st round picks.
Some hella good basketball on the mothership last night. Duke goes up 42-40 at half, to down 46-59 with 11:30 to go. Eight and half minutes and only 4 points, no way that team of young kids on the road against the #6 defensive team in the country figures it out that quickly and comes back to win. The game was tied within 6 minutes. Duke scored 35 points in that 11:30, finished on a 30-9 run, and won easily. Incredible, I am so pumped for what that does for the freshmen's confidence.
Then Kansas looks dead in the first half, comes back from 15 down in the second half to beat WVU. I'm happy for you KU fans. I'm sure Larry Scantland is pissed.
Ya nice 2nd half for Duke and especially Gary Trent Jr. Allen shot 1/6 from 3 but Duke still shot 11/21 from 3 which tells me they had players step up and make shots. Good road win against a solid Miami team.
Honestly thought Kansas was going to lose by 12 points. The previous 4 matchups in Morgantown WVU had won and this is probably the worst and softest team that Self has had at Kansas. And WVU plays something more similar to hockey than basketball, and they get away with more at home. So I was pleasantly surprised at the toughness KU showed last night after putting themselves in a hole.
The sky is blue. Water is wet. Clemson loses in Chapel Hill. ;)
Water can't be wet.
It's too bad Kansas and Duke don't play next season because both of those teams are going to be insane.
I just want UGA to be relevant in basketball for once. We played UK hard but that's about it.
Can't believe we're ranked 13th. Went into this season expecting us to be slightly better than last year with KBD finally being healthy. Never would have expected this. Just wish we had more depth to keep guys fresh.
Tough loss for the fighting manons. Trae Young is kinda good I guess.
Graham shot 4/19. Azubuike missed free throws. HCBS didn't put pull Azubuike, which was a mistake in my opinion. Azubuike missing free throws is normal. HCBS making coaching errors and DG shooting that poorly doesn't happen very much. So it's disappointing in the sense that it was a game that KU probably should have won if things that normally happen happen. And it was also disappointing in that a win would have put KU in a really, REALLY good position to win their 14th straight conference title. But, oh well. Just have to move on and get ready for the next one.
And ya Trae Young was great. Have to give him a lot of credit. And give Kruger credit for his strategy of fouling Doke late.
Fuck.
The loss is on Self. In general we really should have put that OU team away.
Saint Mary's Gaels starting to heat up. Came in at #20 this week. :)
Not sure I've ever seen a more poorly officiated game in my life.
Holy.fucking.shit.
What a fucking joke. With neutral refs we win by 15-20 every single time, even with them shooting absolutely out of their minds (probably the best PSU has ever shot in the history of their program). Seems fitting we lose on a desperation half court shot at the last second against a team that couldn't miss if they tried.
I absolutely cannot wait to go into their arena in a few weeks and beat the fucking piss out of them.
fart noises
Upsets everywhere.
Let's fucking gooooooo
Can't believe the success of this team this year...
Y'all got the national coach of the year tits.
The just don't have any passion according to Self.
What a crazy regular season of basketball this has been so far. Up is down, left is right, East is Banana. I have a feeling I'm going to be picking more upsets in my bracket this year then I ever have. It's like every game is a crapshoot.
