El Cid here. Just saw the news that TAO is gone
I miss the Netjak crew. I stopped playing TAO pretty soon after Twelve and have been playing Hearthstone most of the time. I do miss the clan support that TAO had and I haven't found anything like it since (I know I could find it in WOW but that is not my type of game, I like turn-based strategy).
Oh shit, it's El Cid!
Life has been treating me good. I have two kids now (4 year old boy and 2 year old girl). I also have one more on the way ^_^
Work is going well too. I have been a software developer for 10 years now and I enjoy my job.
Not all has been great of course. The wife is feeling really morning sick with the new baby and I had a close call during a visit out of the states that left me with double vision. Maybe a tale for another time.
But man! TAO gone? Who knows what is really up? I checked around and there are a lot of projects going and BrutalRage says he is going to make his own code available on GitHub. I'm interested on working on the online component for it since I have a certification I'm studying for that would make it a good learning exercise. I just don't want to get sued by Seed or whoever holds the rights to TAO though. Has that been discussed at all? I tried to reach BrutalRage on Facebook and so far not luck
2 kids and one more on the way? Congrats man. Sounds like you're doing well for yourself. I'm in PT school now and my current clinical instructor is vestibular specialist, so she sees a lot of patients with double vision. Maybe I'll get the chance to learn how to treat that them.
Did you check out the new game development section? Lots of cool stuff going on in there. Latest video looks pretty sweet.
Yeah, I checked the new development section, some nice stuff indeed. The most promising stuff though was BrutalRage's HTML5 version of TAO. I have design in mind and I would be able to work on top of his stuff to get a basic multi-player version of it. They started a discussion recently on Facebook about contacting Seed and Bill so we'll see how that goes.
