95% sure it's the Washington Warriors

When Dan Synder bought the rights to an arena team he was going to name them the Warriors so he obviously likes the name and probably owns the rights to the name from thinking about arena in 99. With Warriors they dont need to change the logo or anything immediately either.

Hulky

Mahomes signs a 10 year deal worth $450 million.
Cam Newton signs a 1 year deal worth $550k, plus incentives.

that's not really accurate

Cam Newton
Base Salary $1,050,000
Roster Bonus +$87,500
Per game active bonus: +$43,750 ($700,000 LTBE [likely to be earned bonus])
Incentives: +$6.5M
Deadcap: $550,000 (only matters if he is cut this is how much the Patriots cap gets hit)

Basically if Cam starts and is healthy and plays like healthy Cam (not necessarily MVP Cam) it's 1 year $8,337,500 (or $1,837,500 if he makes the team as second or third string and never plays)

Mahomes 2020 deal is
Base salary: $825,000
Signing bonus: $10,000,000
So his 1 year 2020 salary is 10,825,000

The signing bonus is given to him right away but counts as 2mil per year for 5 years.

The rest is structured like this (these are the years with the signing bonus attached from above)
2020 $825,000 + 0 roster bonus (you have to be on roster to collect this, it's not guaranteed unless you are on the team by X day at the start of the league year)
2021 $990,000 + $21,716,905 roster bonus (so 22.x mil)
2022 $1,500,000 + $27,400,000 roster bonus (29.x mil)
2023 $5,500,000 + $34,400,000 roster bonus (40.x mil)
2024 $2,500,000 + $34,900,000 roster bonus (38 mil)

from 2025 to 2031 there is $0 dead cap space. So the Chiefs can leave at any point from there on out. This is relevant because he has a $59,950,000 number at 2027 which if he isn't today or better Pat Mahomes that's an obvious exit point for them.

Assuming they don't pay that 60mil year or anything after that this is a 5 year deal for 141.4mil with two team option years $41,950,000 per year (making it 7 years) no guarantee or penalty to cut, then the expensive years (60mil, 45mil, 45mil, 50mil, 52mil).

Russell Wilson got 4 yrs / $140,000,000
So Mahomes got 5 yrs / $141,481,905

lot less expensive if you look at it that way (which is how they actually pay it out, he very likely wont get the 60mil year or anything past that unless its market value or underpaid at that point)

Front office and team personnel fucking media members in exchange for scoops and leaks. Protecting leadership, coaches, players from getting in trouble with their wives, etc and then using that information for blackmail, leaks and to keep people obedient."

Probably involves baby Gruden, his staff and the front office that was recently fired covering up for them.

Big oof. Shit organization. They should have waited on the name change and just forced Snyder to sell and let the new owner handle a name change as a symbol of a new organization top to bottom with a clean break from this toxic bs.

edit: heard this rumor too
Dan Snyder abuses drugs and alcohol
Snyder paid off refs. Some refs have made $2 million from him. And Snyder is not the only team owner paying off refs. Others do it too.
Snyder and former Redskins coach Jay Gruden, brother of Jon Gruden, pimped out their cheerleaders to season ticket holders while holding their passports from them in a foreign country
Jay Gruden and then Redskins running back Kapri Bibbs were sleeping with the same woman. When Jay found out, he got petty and benched Bibbs. During that game when Bibbs was on the bench, Bibbs' replacement missed a block and that resulted in quarterback Alex Smith suffering a broken leg. Alex hasn't been able to play football ever since
Snyder and Gruden would hold sex parties with rampant drug usage and some sexual assaults
Snyder held nude photoshoots with the the Redskins cheerleaders
Lawyers are already involved, and possibly the FBI”

bludhoundz
09-29-2020, 08:56 AM
That game moved Lamar Jackson outside of my top 5 QBs

I honestly only had him there based largely on the success from last year, and even then I was skeptical and tempted to put other guys like Dak ahead of him (but I do hate the Cowboys). He didn't play anything like an MVP last night. In my opinion his game is far too predicated on running and the Ravens simply are not built to come from behind. So they look dominant when they win in blowouts and close games, but the games they lose are kinda ugly. Compare to the Chiefs who erased a 20+ point deficit last year in the playoffs and made short work of a 50 burger afterwards. Sure, the Chiefs are also just obviously better (and the best set of weapons in the league too, sure), but their QB has the ability to flip the game in a variety of gamescripts, whereas the Ravens can't afford to fall too far behind.

Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers, Watson remain my top 4. In that order but really I'd have no problem swapping the first two. Prescott may be 5th. I may be higher on Watson than most but I think the gap between him and Mahomes is smaller than people think - he just got stuck with a worse supporting cast and coach

A) having to beat the Steelers and Chiefs in away games for AFC
B) having to beat Packers and Seahawks in away games for NFC

Hugh

Steelers and Chiefs.
Seahawks are in a tough division but have an easy schedule. After the rematch with AZ I think we go Eagles, Giants, Jets, Washington. We’re good but they might actually get to 12 wins and that record would be deceiving. Seattle has major problems on defense and that’s healthy.
Green Bay is very good but they’ve looked like shit a couple of times too. And we all know if Rogers isn’t perfect in the playoffs, they lose. And occasionally he’s not perfect.
The Steelers are flat better than either Seattle or GB and I still think KC is the best team in the league.

Eagles ruined Wentz when they took the ball away from the Superbowl MVP and handed the job back to him.
A job he did not earn and could not prove he deserved without winning another SB, since that was the bar. If they didn’t factor that pressure into the decision, then they’re idiots. It’s Philadelphia. The toughest town in the NFL, and you have a Super Bowl winning team with a QB under 30 who just delivered and an opportunity to sell an injury prone Wentz for the biggest payload since the Herschel Walker trade.
I said it was stupid the minute they did it. And it DOES NOT MATTER if Foles would have also gotten injured or any other hypothetical scenario. What matters is what they actually did and the actually results of that decision. The Eagles offense is in shambles, Wentz is the worst starting QB in the league and they probably won’t even win the worst division in football.

To blitz and spy Derek Carr (lol) in a no TO 15 seconds and like 50 yards to go down by 4, then have UDFA rookie CB Lamar Jackson 1 on 1 with Ruggs was pure stupidity. Jackson even bit on Ruggs little fake as if he'd do anything other than go deep in that scenario.

Literally can’t believe we lost to the Giants with Colt McCoy and no Barkley. Unfuckingreal.
No excuses. Seahawks are one of the healthiest teams in the league and at this stage of the season should be totally dialed-in. They just shit the bed. It’s like Russ just refused to throw the ball today, and even though Carson was averaging 9 yards a carry we didn’t run the ball.

Did Tom Brady get at least to the Conference Championship Game?

2001: Yes.
2002: No, but finished with a winning record.
2003: Yes.
2004: Yes.
2005: No, but made the playoffs.
2006: Yes.
2007: Yes.
2008: No, but it's also the year he hurt his knee and didn't play.
2009: No, but made the playoffs.
2010: No, but made the playoffs.
2011: Yes.
2012: Yes.
2013: Yes.
2014: Yes.
2015: Yes.
2016: Yes.
2017: Yes.
2018: Yes.
2019: No, but made the playoffs and left the Patriots after the year.
2020: Yes, this time the NFC Championship game, and the Patriots finished 3rd in the AFC East.

It's kinda insane to see written out like that.

I don't care who wins it all now so long as it isn't the Bucs.

What is fucking worse is the Superbowl is in Tampa. The host city's team has never made it the year it is in their city. I swear if the NFL lets them in the SB and then win it?

Kinda crazy the Lions are going to trade Stafford, I remember when he was drafted (I was in Tampa at the time) and I did NOT want his rookie card because I thought for sure the Lions would waste him. I ended up getting a lot of Sanchez which worked out because I sold/traded the collection as I left Tampa and Tampa has a lot of NYC seasonal residents so there was a market with the Jets making the playoffs and whatnot back then. It's hard to believe it's like 12 years later or whatever and Stafford is considered late stage career with 1 more extension left in him then maybe some year to year ones after. I think Denver and SF make the most sense.

Holy shit you guys see who the Texans hired as HC when Deshaun Watson has basically said hire Eric Bieniemy or trade me? The Ravens WR coach. The Ravens whose passing game is not hot. The Ravens whose only WR you can likely name is Marqise Brown because he was a first round pick and is fast. Okay okay what else has this 66 year old position coach done to get the Texans job? The Chiefs WR coach the year the Chiefs WRs scored 0 TDs in a year. Holy shit Texans get it together fuck. I expect Deshaun to be traded for less than Stafford at this point. What a fucked organization. I bet JJ Watt gets traded as well.

Edit: lol he was also the passing game coach that year the Bills had Peterman trot out and throw 5 picks in a half

Hugh

There must be something about Eric Bieniemy’s personality that works amazing as a coordinator but people don’t like as a head coach. I don’t know what else it could be. He’s the coordinator of the best offense in the NFL on the SB champs and players apparently love him. 5 teams interviewed him for head coach and nobody hired him. It’s crazy.

Rumors are its a combination of his legal troubles in the past, but like Eberflus and Daboll also didnt get jobs and the both of them with Bieniemy should have been on every teams top 5 list.

Buccaneers are going to destroy (win >7 points) the Chiefs because Suh, Vea, Barrett, JPP finna rock that injured OL.

Big facts. Mahomes still going to light up their D goign to Kelce and Tyreek, but that beating is going to come and by the end it will be Tom Brady winning again. I think we all know this. The KC SB starting OL makes less than the Buccs individual LT (Donovan Smith) or G (Ali Marpet) or C (Ryan Jensen) I think. Last time Remmers started at T in a superbowl Von Miller beat the snot out of him and Cam Newton to carry an ancient Peyton to one last ride.

What a terrible timeout by KC. Too aggressive trying to get the ball back with limited time left in the half anyway. Let the bucs feel the pressure and just try to keep it to a 1 score game. Maybe the PI would've happened anyway but I still think it was a bad decision

this aged pretty well

Chiefs choked too though- some big drops and missed plays, a couple bad penalties on defense (one negating a pick). Most impressive throw of the night was 4th down when Mahomes launched the ball while he was basically horizontal to the ground falling over and it was a dime, hit the receiver right in the face, who then dropped it. Cut that guy.

Bucs deserved to win though, their defense was impressive, the offense was well-rounded, and they played mostly mistake-free
